Things That Will Make You Money - Number 13 - Regular Investment in Yourself and Your Business

Really successful people do things that other people will not do.  The scene of this world is certainly changing and at ever increasing rates. Really successful people keep up with the changes and trying to stay ahead of things. Entire industries can disappear overnight. Our way of life and of doing business can be disrupted but you can succeed by investing in yourself and your business to keep up with or stay ahead of the changes.

To keep up we need to regularly invest in ourselves and our businesses. We need to keep up with technology and we need to be protected from the crimes that are being committed with the technology. We also need to keep up with how others are using technology so we can provide better service for them.

Regularly sharpening the sword that is our knowledge and skill is a must if we want to remain in business. We must keep learning and growing so that we do not become dinosaurs.  Often this investment in ourselves and our business can be mistaken for a expense that we can cut to improve profits but this is short sighted and recipe for long term disaster. Recognize an investment in yourself or your business pays off over time and avoid the short sighted focus on instant gratification.

So "Roll With the Changes" rather than have the changes roll you out of business.

My posts contain general information that does not fit every situation, they are not all inclusive, and as always for your tax situation everything "depends on facts and circumstances."  In addition, the information/IRS requirements are always subject to change.  So call me to talk about your specific facts and circumstances and what you want to accomplish.
